Education and foreign affairs budget allocations for 2026 get Assembly approval

The National Assembly yesterday approved budget allocations for the 2026 financial year for the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, its affiliated agencies, as well as for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora.

Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development

The ministry’s budget is R1,149,267,000. The approved budget represents a reduction of R156.58 million compared to the revised 2025 budget.

The ministry has received the second largest budget allocation for 2026, underlining the government’s continued prioritisation of education and human capital development.
