The School of Music at the National Conservatoire of Performing Arts hosted a shakuhachi workshop on Wednesday afternoon, led by renowned Japanese artist Yosuke Irie. The session was jointly organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the embassy of Japan in Seychelles.

The one-hour workshop offered students a rare opportunity to experience both traditional and modern Japanese music through the evocative sounds of the shakuhachi – a traditional bamboo flute celebrated for its meditative tone and deep cultural significance.
