Seychelles launches coastal resilience project to combat climate change
The Department of Energy and Climate Affairs has officially launched its new Blue Grants Fund 8 project during a stakeholder inception workshop at L’Escale, marking a major step toward strengthening Seychelles’ resilience to climate change.
The initiative, titled ‘Building the resilience of Seychelles from climate change impacts through improved long-term coastal monitoring and evidence-based decision-making’, is funded by the Seychelles Conservation and Climate Adaptation Trust (SeyCCAT) with an allocation of R1,801,360. Running over two years, it will focus on vulnerable coastal areas across Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue.
