Cutlass Express 2026 wraps up in Seychelles with regional maritime security gains

 

Cutlass Express 2026 came to an end yesterday afternoon with the presentation of certificates to over 100 participants from Seychelles, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Madagascar, Malawi, Tunisia, Morocco, and India.

The annual multinational maritime exercise, designed to enhance security and strengthen regional cooperation across the Indian Ocean, was officially launched on February 2 at the Seychelles Coast Guard.

The exercise began with a week of classroom-based sessions before transitioning to practical activities, culminating yesterday morning in a Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) interdiction training exercise off the coast of North Mahé.
