Seychelles seals wetlands pact on World Wetlands Day

Seychelles marked World Wetlands Day 2026 with a landmark partnership to safeguard one of its most vital ecosystems. At a ceremony held yesterday at the National Museum, the Ministry of Environment, Climate, Energy and Natural Resources (MECENR) signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Avani+ Barbarons Seychelles, officially adopting the Barbarons wetlands at Grand Anse, Mahé. The agreement signals a strengthened commitment to wetland preservation, blending cultural heritage with scientific conservation efforts.
