Japanese film festival marks golden jubilee of diplomatic ties between Seychelles and Japan

The fourth Japanese Film Festival was officially launched yesterday at the International Conference Centre, commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Seychelles and Japan.
The festival opened with the screening of The Father of the Milky Way Railroad, a family drama portraying the life of Miyazawa Kenji, one of Japan’s most celebrated literary figures. Though Kenji passed away at the age of 37, he left behind a rich legacy of children’s stories and poems that remain beloved and widely taught in Japan today. The film, told from the perspective of his father, explores the deep bond between father and son.
