President Herminie attends reception on Russian corvette
President Patrick Herminie was the guest of honour at a reception held onboard the Russian Navy corvette Stoikiy on Sunday, marking the vessel’s official visit to Seychelles and underscoring the long-standing maritime ties between the two countries.
Upon arrival, President Herminie was welcomed with a Guard of Honour before boarding the corvette. He was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, Barry Faure, and senior officials of the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF). The delegation received an overview of the vessel’s operations and equipment, including a viewing of its weapons systems, before the official ceremony began.
