Budget 2026: Steady spending with shifting priorities

The proposed national budget for 2026, gazetted on January 27, 2026, sets out how the government plans to spend R11.84 billion to provide public services and support communities across Seychelles.

When compared with the 2025 budget, the largest ever in Seychelles’ history, which stood at R11.9 billion, the overall level of spending remains largely stable. However, there are notable shifts in priorities that directly affect everyday life.
