The Unity Monument has been repainted to its original white colour
The Ministry of Tourism and Culture has confirmed that the iconic Victoria national monuments, namely the Bicentenary Monument and the Unity Monument, are being restored to their original white architectural design, preserving these landmarks in accordance with heritage conservation principles.
The monuments were modified with colourful designs in June 2025 in celebration of National Day. “Following careful review, the decision has been made to restore them to their original state to maintain historical authenticity and honour the vision of their creators,” stated a press release from the ministry yesterday.
