Seychelles is home to some of the world’s rarest and most unique plant and animal species, many of which exist nowhere else on earth. However, the country’s fragile island ecosystems are particularly vulnerable to invasive species. Once introduced, non-native animals can spread rapidly, disrupting natural balances and threatening native wildlife. For this reason, environmental authorities continue to treat invasive species as a serious and ongoing concern.
