AI camera network expands across Sainte Anne Marine National Park

The Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority (SPGA) has expanded its AI‑assisted camera surveillance network across Sainte Anne Marine National Park, enhancing its ability to monitor nesting sea turtles and detect incidents within the park.

Three new cameras – two on Sainte Anne Island and one on Moyenne Island – join the existing AI units already active in SPGA’s parks, alongside others recently upgraded through maintenance. These specialised cameras use artificial intelligence to distinguish between animals, people, and vegetation, filtering out false alarms so that significant events are flagged instantly.

When activity is detected, live feeds are transmitted directly to SPGA’s EarthRanger platform, alerting rangers and officers in real time. The system is powered by Wildlife Protection Solutions (WPS), an international non‑profit specialising in tech‑driven remote monitoring, whose AI network integrates seamlessly with EarthRanger.
