UAE donates modern K-9 facility to Seychelles
The Seychelles Police have officially received a new canine unit facility donated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Construction of the state-of-the-art K-9 Unit building, designed to accommodate eight dogs and their handlers, began in 2023. It was formally handed over to Commissioner of Police Ted Barbe by the UAE’s chargé d’affaires, Ahmed Al Neyadi, during a ceremony held yesterday morning at the site in Barbarons, Grand Anse Mahé.
Commissioner Barbe subsequently presented the keys to Inspector Nadine Atala, head of the K-9 Unit. Also present were Deputy Commissioner Francis Songoire, Assistant Commissioner Ned Wirtz, senior and junior officers of the force, and representatives of the UAE embassy.
