Seychelles karting celebrates its ‘Night of Champions 2025’ in a historic FIA-affiliated awards ceremony
The Seychelles Karting Association hosted its highly anticipated Night of Champions Awards 2025 on Saturday December 6 at the Harbour Lights, marking its first awards celebration as an official member of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile.
The ceremony brought together drivers, officials, sponsors, and dignitaries to honour the nation’s top performers across karting and esports disciplines.
The evening opened with remarks, noting the historic significance of the year, including the Seychelles Karting Association’s (SKA) strengthened governance, youth development expansion, environmental accreditation, and global recognition after being shortlisted for the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) President’s Award, one of the highest honours available to national sporting authorities worldwide.
The event was honoured by the presence of Minister for Youth and Sports Kalsey Belle, Steve Hoareau, and Dominic Pillay from the National Sports Council, Samantha Albert and Alex Esparon of the CSA Trading (main sponsor 2025), Chantal Poonoosamy of Hunt Deltel, Hareen Jaimon of Intelvision, along with representatives from, Penlac, PMC Auto, Abhaye Valabhji, and Deepam Cinema, ISPC, Sacos Group, The Nook
The SKA also acknowledged supporting partners including Mason’s Travel, Bravo, ISPC, Beauty Spot, the Aromatic Company, Unik Imports, Parties and More, and many others who contributed to the 2025 season.

Academy Graduations & Girls On Track: Sixteen young drivers graduated from the Seychelles Karting Academy, spanning Bambinos, Juniors, and Girls On Track. Certificates and gift bags (sponsored by Sacos Group) were presented to celebrate their development and readiness for the 2026 racing season.

Recognised for his exceptional dedication as clerk of the course and contributor to track operations – balancing officiating with his participation in the K-Legends class.
Best coach 2025 – Mr Dave Rene
Honoured for nurturing youth development, leading academy training sessions, and introducing a 2-stroke racing class for young talent.

Seychelles awarded FIA 2026 Motorsport Funding Programme
During the evening, the SKA received major breaking news that added even greater significance to the celebration. The Seychelles has officially been awarded the: 2026 FIA Motorsport Funding Programme – Hybrid Training Programme for Capacity Building in Motorsport Governance and Officiating
This prestigious programme will bring FIA-led trainers to Seychelles to deliver professional certification for Seychellois officials, marshals, and governance personnel.
This marks a transformational milestone, ensuring that Seychelles develops a highly trained team of certified motorsport professionals, fully aligned with global standards and opening new pathways for local talent to officiate nationally, regionally, and potentially at global FIA events.
More details on this training will be announced later but a call for Seychellois to join the Orange Army of motorsport
A milestone year – A celebratory close
The ceremony concluded with group photos, celebrations, and a well-attended dinner, followed by entertainment and the traditional raffle draw. Drivers, parents, officials, and partners gathered to honour a season defined by achievement, resilience, and ground-breaking progress.
As the SKA transitions to its broader national mandate under the new identity AutoSport Seychelles, the organisation looks ahead to a future of expanded opportunities, stronger governance, and greater participation locally and internationally.
The Night of Champions 2025 was not simply an awards show, it was a declaration.
Seychelles motorsport has arrived, and the best is yet to come.
