14 Parliaments attend 58th SADC PF Plenary
The 58th Plenary Assembly of the SADC Parliamentary Forum opened in Durban on Sunday with a call to action from the Forum’s secretary general, Boemo Sekgoma, who invoked the history, soul and resilience of eThekwini to rally Parliaments toward bold, future-shaping decisions.
Delegations from 14 of the 15 SADC member Parliaments are attending the Plenary, including 11 Speakers and Presiding Officers, more than 69 representatives, and 13 observer organisations. Women constitute 40.6% of the delegates, a step toward the 50% parity target set by the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development.
