China National Day is a monumental holiday observed annually on October 1. It commemorates the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) by chairman Mao Zedong in 1949.
The day is marked by grand national celebrations, most notably in Beijing, where a large flag-raising ceremony takes place in Tiananmen Square. Major anniversaries are often highlighted by impressive military parades showcasing the nation’s strength. Across China, the festive atmosphere is enriched with cultural events and dazzling firework displays.
