Seychelles earns credit upgrade as Fitch lifts rating to ‘BB’
Seychelles recently received a vote of confidence on the international stage after Fitch Ratings upgraded the country’s Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) from ‘BB-’ to ‘BB’, with a Stable Outlook.
The upgrade, announced on September 5, 2025, is seen as a recognition of the country’s stronger policy framework, solid economic performance, and improved resilience to shocks in its highly tourism-dependent economy.
