‘Youth empowerment through AI and digital skills’

Today marks the tenth anniversary of World Youth Skills Day, an annual observance established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014 to highlight the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship.
This year’s theme, ‘Youth empowerment through AI and digital skills’, reflects growing global attention on the impact of artificial intelligence and digital technology on vocational education and the future of work. The 2025 observance also coincides with the fifth anniversary of the Global Skills Academy, an initiative aimed at increasing access to skills development worldwide.
