Donors recognised for their selfless acts

To mark World Blood Donor Day which falls on June 14, an award ceremony was held at the Sheikh Khalifa Building to honour organisations that have contributed to the national health cause across Seychelles and, most importantly, to recognise the selfless contributions of blood donors.
The Minister for Health, Peggy Vidot, delivered a thoughtful speech to thank the various organisations for their efforts and, above all, the blood donors for their invaluable service to the nation.
“Over 2,500 blood transfusions are given to patients in our hospitals every year; a large number for a small country; and there will be even more demand in the future. Blood donation will remain a key component of our national health service,” she stated.
