Phoenix Beverages Limited (PBL), a subsidiary of IBL Ltd and the leading beverage company in Mauritius, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary based in Réunion Island, Edena Boissons, will officially commence the production and distribution of Coca-Cola products in 2026.
As an exclusive bottling partner of The Coca-Cola Company in Mauritius for over 70 years, PBL has steadily expanded its presence across the Indian Ocean region. The acquisition of Edena Boissons in 2017 represented a strategic milestone in this regional development. Since then, PBL has made significant investments in the modernisation of Edena’s operations, hence, enhancing production capabilities,integratingsustainablepractices,creatingemploymentopportunities,andcontributingto local economic development in Réunion Island.
Aspartofthisnewphase,EdenaBoissonswillbeequippedwithacutting-edgebottlingline,expanded storage infrastructure, and an enhanced distribution model, enabling the company to meet the globallyrecognisedqualitystandardsofTheCoca-ColaCompany.BackedbyPBL’sextensivetechnical and operational expertise, this upgraded facility will significantly strengthen local production and better align with consumer expectations in Réunion. In line with evolving operational requirements, Edenaalsoplanstoassessthepotentialintegrationofexperiencedpersonnelfromformeroperations.
This multi-million-euro investment reinforces Phoenix Beverages’ long-term commitment to its partnership with The Coca-Cola Company and its dedication to the sustainable economic growth of Réunion Island. The project will broaden the local Coca-Cola portfolio and bring the brand closer to consumers by tailoring the offering to local market preferences.
The transition is expected to deliver positive socio-economic outcomes – including the creation of newjobs,stimulationoflocaleconomicactivity,andtheadoptionofmoreenvironmentallyresponsible production practices – in alignment with PBL’s sustainability agenda under the PhoenixEarth Initiative.

To be recalled that in a parallel strategic move to strengthen its regional presence, Phoenix Beverages Group announced in April, the acquisition of Diageo’s majority shareholding in Seychelles Breweries Ltd. The transaction is expected to be completed on July 1, 2025.
