Major East Coast reclamation project to boost commercial and industrial land availability
Some 320 to 330 industrial plots averaging 800 square metres are to be made available to the private sector in the coming years, through the East Coast reclamation project.
The project, comprising four components, is expected to kick off later this year, and to be completed in around six to eight months.
Minister for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry, Devika Vidot, said in a press conference held at the Industrial Estates Authority’s (IEA) office, Providence, yesterday, that the much-awaited project will address the persistent challenge of limited land availability for the development of the private sector.
“The government has conducted analysis in relation to economic development, and we have observed the necessity to support our country’s economic development, necessitating measures to increase the stock of land across the country,” Minister Vidot stated.
