By Patrick Joubert/Patsy Canaya

The Head of State, President Wavel Ramkalawan, has questioned the location of the National Information Services Agency (Nisa), headquartered on a plot of land on Bois De Rose it leases from the United Seychelles party and called for a delinking of the media/printing company from the political party.

Speaking during his second live press conference for the year at State House yesterday evening, Mr Ramkalawan said the agreement has a political history. He was responding to a question put to him by Seychelles NATION’s journalist Laura Pillay on a Motion to be tabled in the National Assembly by Gervais Henrie from the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS), which is asking the parastatal company to cease any business dealings with the United Seychelles (US). The Motion, which was on the National Assembly agenda this week, has been pushed to next week.

Ms Pillay was enquiring about the government’s plan for the state-owned company, which is not state-funded, considering the motion could have a direct impact on its operation and profitability.
