Children’s Day

ISS donates to Autism association

International School Seychelles yesterday proudly presented a monetary donation to the Autism Association Seychelles in celebration of Children’s Day.

The funds were generously collected by students, parents and staff as part of a special initiative to support children with autism and raise awareness about neurodiversity.

In addition to the monetary donation, the International School Seychelles (ISS) also made a separate donation to the Mont Fleuri district administration office, consisting of pre-loved clothing and toys. These items were collected through a school-wide drive aimed at supporting children and families in need within the community. These donations reflect the school’s continued commitment to inclusivity, outreach, and fostering compassion among students. The spirit of Children’s Day — a time to honour and uplift all children — was clearly evident in the school community’s collective efforts.

The Autism Association Seychelles expressed heartfelt thanks to the ISS community for their contribution, which will go toward resources and programmes that benefit children on the autism spectrum across the islands.

Executive head, Elodie Vallantine, stated, “This act of kindness shows the true strength of our school values — especially empathy and respect. I’m incredibly proud of how our community came together for such a worthy cause.”

Steve Noel, district administrator for Mont Fleuri, also expressed his appreciation, saying, “We are very grateful to International School Seychelles for thinking of the community in such a meaningful way. The items donated will make a real difference to children in the district. Acts like these remind us of the positive impact schools can have beyond the classroom.”

ISS remains dedicated to nurturing socially responsible students who actively contribute to the well-being of their wider community.
