Mont Buxton nurses honoured by district authorities

The Mont Buxton district authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs organised a Nurses conference at the ministry’s headquarters on Saturday to commemorate International Nurses Day celebrated on May 12.

The conference was an opportunity to honour and recognise the contribution of nurses – who form the backbone of the healthcare system – and to provide them an opportunity to voice their job-related concerns.

A number of retired nurses from the district were presented with the token for their years of commitment and service in the health sector. They were: Marise Vidot, Jacynthe Joseph, Julian Kilindo and Irine Anacoura.

Several others who are still in-service were also recognised, and presented with tokens of appreciation by the organisers. They were: Marie-Helene Niole, Luiana Bathilde, Begguita Arrisol, Julita William, Elsia Sinon, Laiza Accouche, Georgia Salum, Veronique Lucie, Aisha Fostel, Brigitte Gabriel, Cynthia Renaud, Benjamin Doway, Julie Commetant, Shireen Dufrene, Corine Zialor and Nathan Pierre.
