Souvenir, a sub-district of La Misère, will boast a modernised day care centre in the fourth quarter of this year. Yesterday afternoon, President Wavel Ramkalawan visited the site housing the structure of the former community centre and clinic that will be renovated and turned into a day care facility.
Mr Ramkalawan was accompanied by a delegation comprising the Minister for Land and Housing, Billy Rangasamy; the Minister for Local Government and Community Affairs, Rose Marie Hoareau; the elected member for Grand Anse Mahé, Honourable Waven William; and the chief executive of the Seychelles Infrastructure Agency, Jitesh Shah, among others.
Speaking to the media after the visit, Mr Shah said renovation work on the structure is expected to start in two and half months’ time and if everything goes according to plan, the facility will be ready three months after. At the moment, SIA is in the conceptualisation and draughting stage and will then move on to the tendering process.
