Health care professionals address effective patient transition from hospital
To commemorate International Nurses Day celebrated on May 12, under the global theme “Our Nurses, Our Future, The Economic Power of Care”, a group of 75 nurses including other allied health professionals from across the local healthcare system met in a workshop yesterday to discuss the importance of having a strategic plan for effective patient transitions from hospital.
The one-day workshop at the Sheikh Khalifa Diagnostic Centre titled ‘Patient Outcomes through Collaborative Discharge Planning’ by the Ministry of Health, allowed participants to exchange knowledge, strengthen inter-professional collaboration and explore strategies for a more effective patient transitions after treatment by the doctors, nurses and other health professionals.
