Vesak Day: President sends greetings to Buddhist community

“On the sacred occasion of Vesak, I extend warm greetings and best wishes to all members of the Buddhist community in Seychelles and around the world.

“Vesak, which marks the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Lord Buddha, is a profound moment of reflection, compassion, and spiritual renewal. It is a time that reminds us of the timeless values of peace, tolerance, humility, and respect for all life – principles that are ever more relevant in today’s world.

“As we observe this meaningful day, let us all draw inspiration from the teachings of Buddha to foster harmony within our communities, care for the vulnerable, and promote a spirit of unity across all faiths and cultures.

“May this Vesak bring peace into our hearts and into our world.
