From headlines to algorithms: Media practitioners explore AI with NCCC and AMPS
Local media professionals across various national media now have a better understanding of artificial-intelligence technologies and its possible implications for the media, population and country at large.
Through a workshop yesterday morning organised by the National Cybersecurity Coordination Committee (NCCC), in collaboration with the Association of Media Practitioners Seychelles (Amps), the media engaged with the experts who make up the committee to explore the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and the media, with particular focus on its impact on press freedom, ethics and cybersecurity in a rapidly advancing digital landscape. The special event was organised by the committee to commemorate World Press Freedom Day, which is observed around the globe on May 3. The chosen theme for this year is ‘Reporting in the Brave New World – The Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Press Freedom and the Media’.
