Sharks in the City: Geneva’s week of ocean awareness with Save Our Seas Foundation

The Save Our Seas Foundation is bringing the ocean to the heart of Geneva with Sharks in the City, a week-long celebration of sharks, their vital role in marine ecosystems, and the urgent need to protect them. From May 16 to 25, 2025, the Swiss city will host a series of engaging events designed to educate, inspire, and rally the public around shark conservation. With a treasure hunt, expert talks, and a documentary screening, the Foundation is making a splash to show that saving sharks is everyone’s responsibility.

Sharks are often painted as villainous sea creatures in popular culture, however, they remain essential to healthy oceans and a balanced marine ecosystem that humans rely on for food, oxygen, and climate regulation. Facing threats like overfishing, pollution, habitat loss, and climate change, sharks need our help. Sharks in the City aims to diver this narrative, showcasing their importance and sparking collective action.
