President sends condolences following the passing of Francis Chang-Sam
“It is with deep sadness that I have learned of the passing of Francis Chang-Sam, a distinguished Seychellois whose invaluable contribution to the legal, political and constitutional development of our nation will forever be remembered.
“On behalf of the government and people of Seychelles, and in my own name, I extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family, friends and loved ones of Mr Chang-Sam during this time of profound loss.
“Mr Chang-Sam dedicated his life to the service of Seychelles, playing a pivotal role in the drafting of the Constitution of the Third Republic and leaving an indelible mark on the legal and constitutional framework of our country. His integrity, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to justice earned him the respect of his peers and the gratitude of our nation. He was recognised for his contribution to the country during last year’s National Awards presentation ceremony, where he received the Medal of Honour. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life, his legacy, and his immense contribution to the building of a democratic and just Seychelles. May his memory continue to inspire current and future generations.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
