Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, and Air Seychelles have announced a new codeshare partnership. The new agreement will offer seamless connections for Emirates customers connecting on Air Seychelles-operated flights from Mahe to Praslin island.
Tickets can be booked on emirates.com, on the Emirates App, contact centres or via both online and offline travel agents, with codeshare flights starting in the summer season.
Emirates will place its code on the route operated by Air Seychelles, between the two domestic points, Mahe and Praslin island. Emirates customers will enjoy the convenience of island to island connectivity, hassle-free booking of itineraries on a single ticket while reaping the benefit of securing competitive fares, and a single baggage policy checked through to Praslin island.
Adnan Kazim, deputy president and chief commercial officer, Emirates said: “Our codeshare partnership with Air Seychelles will provide customers with seamless connections to Praslin island, and complements our existing services between Dubai and Mahe, enabling Emirates to expand our reach and allow our customers to fly to one of the most popular points in Seychelles. We look forward to developing the relationship further and introducing more added-value benefits.”
Sandy Benoiton, chief executive of Air Seychelles said: "We are thrilled to partner with Emirates to enhance connectivity between Mahe and Praslin island. This codeshare agreement not only simplifies travel for our customers but also showcases our commitment to making the Seychelles more accessible to travellers from around the world. We look forward to welcoming more visitors to our beautiful islands and working closely with Emirates to ensure an exceptional travel experience."
Emirates currently has commercial cooperation agreements in place with 164 interline, codeshare and intermodal partners expanding its network reach to nearly 1,800 cities.
The airline operates 14 flights per week between Dubai and Mahe, with the majority of travellers venturing from France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom for their holidays in Seychelles.
