A 13-member delegation from the Kingdom of Eswatini was at the Seychelles Pension Fund yesterday on a crucial benchmarking mission to learn about the transformation of the Seychelles National Provident Fund into the current Seychelles Pension Fund and its best practices.
The visit was the third by an Eswatini delegation to the Seychelles Pension Fund (SPF) to gain expertise on how to convert the country’s provident fund into a fully-fledged pension system. The high-level delegation led by the Kingdom’s Minister for Labour and Social Security, Phila Buthelezi, comprised government officials, members of parliament, the Senate as well as members of the Eswatini National Provident Fund.
In his opening remarks, Minister Buthelezi said the visit underscored the Kingdom’s strategic move to modernise its own national provident fund system by transitioning it into a more robust and sustainable national pension fund in the hope of more efficient pension system for its citizens.
