Travizory comes on board as main sponsor of Seychelles team

Travizory is the latest local company to throw its support behind the Seychelles beach soccer national team as they prepare for the upcoming Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup.

The software company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Youth and Sports department along with the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) in a small ceremony at the Youth and Sports office at Oceangate House on Tuesday morning.

Travizory’s sponsorship guarantees substantial financial support to the national team in an agreement, which will last for the next three years.

These much-needed funds will support training, equipment and travel ahead of the upcoming Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup, and into the future.

The Youth and Sports department has been the key negotiator to ensure this collaboration comes to fruition.

Principal secretary for Youth and Sports Ralph Jean-Louis, chief executive of the SFF Denis Rose, and managing director of Travizory Norman De Silva represented their respective organisations at the signing.

PS Jean-Louis thanked Travizory for its commitment to the national team and for its collaboration and partnership.

“I’m glad that we are gathered today for the signing ceremony after months of negotiation. Travizory has been very forthcoming with its support of our national team and we are very grateful and also happy to work with them for this exciting venture as our country prepares to host this world event in a couple of months,” PS Jean-Louis said.

For his part, Mr De Silva highlighted Travizory’s long-standing commitment to promoting local projects and youth development initiatives.

“We are very excited to be an official partner of the beach soccer team. This sponsorship builds on previous capacity-building efforts by Travizory, including sponsorship of the St Louis Challengers youth team, creation of local software and IT internships, and workshops for secondary students. We seized this opportunity when it came up and we are so excited to be involved in such an important national event – and hope to catch some of the matches with our team,” he said,

On behalf of the SFF, Mr Rose said the federation is very thankful for such support at an opportune moment.

“On behalf of the Seychelles Football Federation, I would like to thank PS Jean-Louis and Travizory for this initiative. It comes at an opportune time as we look to companies in Seychelles to help us with the preparation of the national team for the beach soccer event. As you know, this is the first time it is being held in Africa – making this year a landmark in history. We are happy that companies like Travizory are coming forward.  We are grateful and we hope this arrangement continues for some time so that we can really make a difference in the development of football, especially beach soccer and also to entice the youth to take up football and sports,” Mr Rose noted.
