Men of African descent more at risk of prostate cancer |30 January 2025
The genetic risk factors that contribute to increased prostate cancer in men of African descent have been identified, through a new study.
Undertaken by a consortium, the Men of African Descent, Carcinoma of the Prostate (MADCaP), the research is the largest thus far to investigate the genetic traits specific to certain ancestries, and disease associations for prostate cancer across Sub-Saharan Africa.
It was funded by the US National Institute of Health.
