PUC to expand power generation capacity on Mahé |16 November 2024
To meet the growing electricity demand and improve reliability on Mahé, the Public Utilities Corporation is expanding the generation capacity of its Roche Caiman power station.
According to the Public Utilities Corporation (PUC), as of 2024, electricity demand on Mahé stands at 63.8 MW. Roche Caiman power station, the primary source of electricity for the island, currently operates with 11 generators, totalling 74 MW in installed capacity.
