Red-Billed Tropicbird spotted for the first time on Desroches Island |26 July 2024

Desroches Island has recorded its first sighting of a Red-Billed Tropicbird (Phaethon aethereus) or ‘payanke labek rouz’ in Creole.
This rare sighting, the 19th ever-recorded in Seychelles, occurred recently when James Wareing, Assistant Conservation Officer for Island Conservation Society (ICS), was out bird-watching during the early morning hours.
