Suspects in two unrelated deaths remanded further |10 January 2024

The two suspects involved in two unrelated death incidents which happened in December 2023 were yesterday morning remanded for a further fourteen days in police custody by the Supreme Court.

First to be remanded by presiding judge, Justice David Esparon, was the 39-year-old daughter of former National Assembly member, Honourable Rosie Bistoquet.

The woman is suspected by the police of causing the former MNA’s death on the evening of December 21, 2023, at the MNA’s resident in Pointe Larue.

Her lawyer, Basil Hoareau, did not object to further detention but demanded that her client gets one hour of sunshine daily and a blanket for sleeping while in detention.

She is being detained at the Takamaka police station.

His demands were accepted by the court.

The male Vietnamese national suspected of causing the death of a man from Myanmar on board a fishing vessel in Seychelles’ waters was the second person to be remanded further.

The 41-year-old stabbed his 22-year-old colleague with a sharp object during an argument. Both he and the woman will appear in court on January 23, 2024 while the investigation in both cases continue.
