Seychelles Breweries donates R1m to December 7 Disaster Relief Fund |12 December 2023

Seychelles Breweries has announced a donation of R1 million to the Disaster Relief Fund in support of the families and businesses affected by the two disasters which hit the country during the night and early hours of December 7, 2023.

In making the donation, the managing director, Yvonne Mwangi said that the company has been operating successfully in Seychelles for over half a century and forms part of the foundation of the Seychellois community and therefore, “when the country and people of Seychelles need our support, we must come forward”.

“We have taken a three-pronged approach to the support that we are providing. In addition to the R1 million donation, we also donated soft drinks through the Red Cross Society of Seychelles for the disaster relief workers over the last couple of days, but more importantly, we have provided assistance and support to our employees who have been impacted by the explosion at CCCL,” Ms Mwangi said.

“As the leading beverage company in Seychelles, we believe that we have a responsibility to offer our support during this challenging time as the country grapples with the aftermath of these unfortunate incidents,” she added.
