  •          Isha Radwan wins the women’s challenge

Following his exploit last year, Scotsman Ewan Davidson has once again surpassed all his opponents this year, clinching back-to-back wins at the annual Praslin Challenge held last weekend, where the participants endured a 30km test round the country’s second biggest island.

In the women’s challenge it was Isha Radwan who finished first, adding another win to her name after winning the La Digue Challenge held two months ago.

A total of 23 athletes – 13 male and 10 female – were on the starting line for this year’s challenge jointly hosted by the community, leisure and sports for all unit within the National Sports council (NSC) and the Seychelles Challenge and Outward Bounds Association (Scoba).

From the starting line, which was at the Baie Ste Anne community centre, they headed towards Côte d’Or, before going through Anse Lazio, Mont Plaisir, Grand Anse, Consolation and Anse Marie Louise, before finishing where they started.

Davidson clocked two hours, seven minutes and 49 seconds  (2hr7:49) to finish the race, finishing ahead of Sisira Kumara who was second in 2hr39:20.

Jonathan Quatre was third overall in 2hr44:24, pushing Lilanda Ngulube into fourth place, finishing in 3hr09:40.

Fifth overall was Andy Rose in 3hr29:29

In the women’s race, Radwan clocked 3hr30:06 to finish first, ahead of Brenda Larue who was second in 3hr37:14, while Zoe Gordon was third overall in 4hr00:47.

Vanessa Sinon finished fourth overall in 4hr13:40, ahead of Danielle Payet who clocked 4hr28:56 to take the fifth place overall.

The winners received their prizes from director of the community, leisure and sports for all unit Francis Remie and members of Scoba.
