CBS publishes survey results as part of its strategic planning process |09 September 2023

The Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) has published the results of a survey through which its external stakeholders, including the public, had the opportunity to share their opinion on CBS’ performance under its current strategic plan, which will lapse at the end of this year, as well as provide insights that would shape the new plan being worked on.

Most people who responded to the survey agreed that CBS has partly achieved its Vision and Mission, attesting to their overall positive rating of CBS’ performance on key strategic issues.

According to the survey, all participants responded positively to “CBS explaining its mandates”, while the area requiring more attention is “Fintech and Innovation” which was rated negatively by a third of the respondents.

The survey participants also highlighted the importance of using digitalisation to transform the economy, with modernising the regulatory framework also being raised.

Cybersecurity was most commonly identified as a threat, with the risk of emerging technologies also listed.

The information collected will add to the views gathered from similar surveys done with CBS board members and staff over the two-week period from July 21 – August 4, 2023, to update the analysis being carried out on the links and possible dynamics between strengths and weaknesses of the institution and opportunities and threats from external factors.

This initiative is part of the broader strategic planning process to develop the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, which will lead CBS to its fiftieth anniversary.

For a more in-depth view of the responses to the survey, the External Stakeholder Survey Report can be accessed on the CBS website at the following link: https://www.cbs.sc/Publications/StrategicPlan.html.

The CBS would like to thank all those who participated in the survey.
