Seychelles lose to Mauritius and Reunion in quarterfinals

The men’s and women’s selections competing in basketball 3x3 were eliminated after losing against Mauritius and Reunion respectively at the 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games in Madagascar.

After losing 12-15 to Maldives, before losing their other match 17-21 to Mayotte in group B, the men’s selection comprising Nigel Cafrine, Anil Charlette, Alf Aglae and Brandon Belmont, narrowly lost to Mauritius 17-19 in their quarterfinal match yesterday.

As for the women’s selection, made up of Veena Marie, Guyra Boniface, Jennifer Bonne, and Bernadette Songor, they are also out of the competition after losing 12-21 to Reunion in the quarterfinal yesterday.

The women’s team had lost their first match 21-17 to Mayotte, before losing 7-14 to Maldives.
