The SPF was represented at the forum by Darell Bristol, head of corporate and communication, and Maylene Spiro, head of risks.

The conference regrouping all ISSA member organisations from Africa is hosted every two years as a platform to enable member countries to share good practice experiences as a common learning curve to improve the overall social security landscape and coverage among member countries.

Special emphasis was placed on management practices for transformation and innovation with digital practices adoption, customer-centred service delivery, institutional capacity building, improved governance, improving institutional resilience and response capacity including inter-institutional coordination.

Management transformation components were discussed at great length which includes digitalisation, service delivery, human resources, good governance and innovation practices.

The highlight of the event was the awarding of prizes for entries for best practices competition. SPF submitted five (5) entries as follows;

  •   ‘Pas kot Fon Pansyon pour en konversasyon’ campaign
  •   Investment policy in line with ISSA guidelines on investment of social security funds

All entries won certificate of Merit.

The chief executive of SPF, Nisreen Abdulmajid, expressed satisfaction that SPF is slowly establishing a name for itself internationally for the level of good practices being implemented in line with the requirement of a developed pension system.

To note that SPF has traditionally successfully participated in the ISSA good practice competition for Africa since 2017, where it won its first Certificate of Merit for its Pension Calculator available on its website www.pensionfund.sc
