Devoud family gets a ‘chance of a lifetime’ trip
Jacques Devoud and his football crazy son Chace will have the chance to watch the third-place match at the Khalifa Stadium and the final of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association World Cup at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar after winning the World Cup promotion competition hosted by Mauritius Commercial Bank in partnership with Visa.
It was in fact Mr Devoud’s daughter, Bernice, who won the prize, but since she just gave birth, she decided to treat his father and brother with the opportunity. MCB Seychelles managing director François Jackson handed over the prize to Bernice Devoud in the presence of her father and brother.
As part of the winnings, Mr Devoud and his son will have the opportunity to do a stadium tour – access the players’ locker room, stadium media centre, player mix zone, and media tribune –, a centre circle tour – a walk into the field before the players and have an opportunity to take a unique picture –, as well as warm-up tour – watch players warm-up before the match from pitch level.
The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (Fifa) World Cup Qatar 2022 promotional campaign was valid between August 1 and September 30 and a lottery was drawn in mid-October.
This offer was exclusively open to holders of MCB Seychelles Visa cards (Classic & Platinum debit cards and Classic and Gold credit cards) residing in Seychelles.
One lottery ticket was issued in favour of the cardholder for each approved transaction performed during the promotional period, either on a Point of Sales (POS) terminal or on an e-commerce/online site.
The count of transactions was made based on the date of authorisation of each transaction.
The total amount spent during the promotional period was summed up to determine the number of tickets obtained by the cardholder.
Transactions carried out at Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) or cash advance done via POS terminals was not considered during the promotional campaign.
The winner’s package includes flight tickets, tickets for the matches, accommodation, transport to and from the matches, meals and drinks, excursions, and an allowance of R10,000 each on their MCB VISA credit card.
Wearing a France national team shirt, a very excited young Chace said he is looking forward to being in Qatar, and is very thrilled since the World Cup is a very big thing. He said he is also happy that he will have the chance to see a lot of famous football players.
On behalf of the family, Mr Devoud thanked the MCB and partners for the opportunity which he described as a “chance of a lifetime”.
He said they will make the maximum out of it, taking a lot of souvenir photos which they will cherish for a lifetime.
