Ambassador Fock Tave receives newly accredited Indian HC |23 November 2022

The principal secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivianne Fock Tave, recently received the newly accredited resident high commissioner of India, Kartik Pande, at the Maison Quéau de Quinssy.

Ambassador Fock Tave expressed Seychelles’ gratitude for India’s contribution to the country’s

economic development since its Independence in 1976.

“India and Seychelles have a long history of friendship and a dynamic relationship with cooperation in most sectors. It is our sincere hope to continue to strengthen this relationship for the benefit of our peoples,” said Ambassador Fock Tave.

On his part, HC Pande commented that part of his mandate is to expand collaboration in other areas such as tourism and trade.

Ambassador Fock Tave assured the high commissioner of the support of the department in this endeavour as his effort will contribute further to the socio-economic development of the country.

The two diplomats also discussed pending projects and agreements, including the signing of three MoUs under the High Impact Community Development Project.

The two parties also discussed current international affairs and other potential areas of cooperation between the two countries.

Seychelles and India established diplomatic relations in 1976.

HC Pande was accompanied by second secretary and head Chancery, Vikram Grewal. Other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism were also present.
