42,620 vehicles on Seychelles roads
Seychelles’ roads are carrying a record 42,620 vehicles, according to the last figures from the Seychelles Licensing Authority dated June 2024; a number that continues to climb and push the country’s transport network to its limits.
Private Vehicles (33,224): This category is by far the largest. The desire for personal mobility and the convenience of owning a car are driving this number ever higher. A study from 2022 highlighted this dramatic growth, noting that passenger cars increased from 7,000 to 23,000 between the years 2000 and 2020.This trend shows no signs of slowing down.
