Jude Adolphe is CWS slogan competition winner |15 November 2022

In June 2022, Cable and Wireless Seychelles (CWS) launched a slogan competition inviting members of the public to submit entries synonymous with the company’s sector, field, legacy, people, products, and services.

The telecommunications company has named Jude Adolphe as the winner with the successful slogan of ‘Connecting you since 1893’. As the company approaches its historic 130th anniversary, the slogan has been described as a “testament to the company’s rich history and long-lasting heritage” by chief executive Georges D’offay.

The slogan itself is reminiscent of the humble beginnings of one of the leading telcos, CWS, and yet is a blatant reminder of just how long this company has been operating in Seychelles.

Mr Adolphe’s submission also reflects how CWS has been making physical connections in terms of connectivity and playing an active role in the community by bringing the nation together through its extensive portfolio of products and services.

CWS would like to congratulate Mr Adolphe who received a cash prize of R25,000 for his winning entry. Recounting his delightful memories of the company, the CWS team was pleasantly surprised to hear that Mr Adolphe came from a generation of women who have worked at CWS. Both his mother and grandmother were former employees who have witnessed the evolution of the company over the years.

Asked about his inspiration for the slogan, Mr Adolphe stated: “At its core, the fundamental business objective of the institution remains the same since its inception, that is, connecting people from the islands to the world. Cable & Wireless Seychelles strives to connect families, businesses to customers, entrepreneurs to investors, connect ideas, and foster innovation.”
