Weekend matches to decide who play who

With the top four teams in division two having already secured their play-off spots, today’s last fixtures of the preliminary round being played at Victoria Gymnasium will decide who will play who.

AB Boys, Praslin Boys, Cascade Bullets and Anse Etoile have already guaranteed a spot in the play-offs, while today’s matches will decide who will face who in the next stage of the competition.

Presently on top, Anse Boileau-based AB Boys have so far garnered 32 points from 15 wins and two losses from 17 matches played, while Praslin Boys who have played all their 18 matches are second, also on 32 points, but from 14 victories and four defeats.

With 13 wins and four defeats from 17 matches played, Cascade Bullets are presently third, same statistics as fourth-placed Anse Etoile who are behind on the head-to-head rule.

In today’s matches at Victoria Gymnasium, Cascade Bullets will play against Bel Air Basketball Academy (Baba), AB Boys will meet Mont Fleuri Ballerz, while Anse Etoile will clash with St Louis Saints.

In the men’s top flight, Beau Vallon Heat will play against Drifters, while PLS Hawks will clash with Baya.

For the women’s competition, Anse Etoile Stars will meet Mont Fleuri, while Anse-Boileau-based HotShots will play against B Challenge.

The play-off series is expected to dribble off on November 2, with all match-ups being played on a best-of-three format.

Meanwhile, the Seychelles Basketball Federation (SBF) will hold an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on Saturday November 12 at the Olympic House, Roche Caïman with the election of a new president the main point on the agenda.
