Young Seychellois footballers receive government support for France academy programme

 In a show of compassion and generosity, the government, through a collaborative funding initiative overseen by the Office of the President of the Republic of Seychelles, has provided airline tickets to 25 promising young Seychellois footballers pursuing scholarships at the Institute of Football Seychelles in France.

The players are part of the Fédération internationale de Football Association (Fifa) Forward Elite Academy programme ‘Developing Future Seychellois Football Excellence through Education and High-Performance Training’.

The airline tickets were presented to the young athletes, aged between 12 and 14, by President Patrick Herminie during a brief ceremony held at State House yesterday afternoon.
