The second resolution was to adopt a new logo and moto for the ‘Lazenes United Seychelles’.

The third and fourth resolutions implied that the youth of US will give full support to their party, the President of the Party, the future presidential candidate and the candidates for National Assembly in the 2025 election. They also pledged solidarity towards other progressist organisations from the world.

Party leader, Dr Patrick Herminie, addressed the youth through a recorded video and urged them to keep making their voice heard as they all have a right to have access to education and make sure they have a future in Seychelles.

“I am very proud of you all and as a party US will make sure that the children and youth of Seychelles are taken care of.”

Dr Marvin Fanny, deputy chair of the Party, stated that US believes in the youth present at the conference as they are dynamic and determined to bring true changes in the country.

“Life is getting harder in Seychelles and I am hopeful that our population, including the youth, are witnessing what is happening. The attendance at the youth conference shows that you are all ready to work for the betterment of the country and stay close to the community. We have to keep voicing out about the cost of living, the removal of social aid for some vulnerable families and the ongoing drug problems. We urge the youth across Seychelles to keep connected with the community and keep proving themselves in the community,” Dr Fanny said.

Sebastien Pillay shared the satisfaction of the party after the big turnout of the youth. “It shows the work we have been doing as a team and a party on the field. We were able to reinvigorate the party and the youth participating in the forum today are 18 plus and we expect more on the field in the coming days. As a party we are putting much emphasis on what is happening in the community and raise their concerns on a national platform.”

The youth conference was attended by youths coming from 25 districts and some senior members of the US party – Sebastien Pillay, Leader of the Opposition, Wallace Cosgrow.

The forum also saw musical performances where the youth showed their enthusiasm and excitement.
