Air Seychelles and Turkish Airlines sign codeshare agreement |10 September 2022

A codeshare agreement between the Seychelles national carrier Air Seychelles and Turkish Airlines has been signed.
The official signing ceremony took place on Thursday this week at Turkish Airlines’ headquarters in Istanbul.
Air Seychelles’ acting chief executive, Sandy Benoiton, and Turkish Airlines’ chief executive, Bilal Ekşi, were present to sign the codeshare agreement in the presence of other distinguished representatives from both parties.
The codeshare agreement aims at reinforcing the commercial partnership between the two aviation companies, providing guests with additional travel alternatives connecting Seychelles and Turkey.
Under this codeshare agreement, Turkish Airlines will place its ‘TK’ code on Air Seychelles’ domestic services between Mahé and Praslin.
In turn, Air Seychelles places its ‘HM’ code on flights operated by Turkish Airlines between Istanbul to Mahé, Istanbul to Tel Aviv, and Istanbul to Paris flights.
The two partners wish to expand further beyond this agreement in the future.
Both chief executives expressed their excitement for this new chapter in their commercial relationship.
Mr Benoiton underlined how the codeshare agreement will be beneficial for both parties involved.
“Air Seychelles is delighted to extend the ‘TK’ code on our domestic flights between Mahé and Praslin, allowing a single-ticket transaction easing travel between the two islands. To add, having the ‘HM’ code appear in key cities in Europe and the Middle East, will provide additional travel options to better our guests’ flying experience.”
Mr Ekşi, highlighted how the agreement has the aim of enhancing the partnership between Turkish Airlines and Air Seychelles.
“We believe that this partnership will not only bring benefits to both carriers from a commercial perspective, but also improve the cultural and tourism relations between the two countries,” Mr Ekşi stated.
