Visiting Lions Club international district governor donates home items to Health Care Agency |25 April 2022
Visiting Lions Club International District Governor 411A, Dr Zulfikar Mamujeefrom Kenya, on Friday afternoon donated some homeitems to the Health Care Agency.
The items comprising a computer table, a book shelf, cushions and a micro oven will be allocated to the oncology unit.
The deputy chief executive of the Health Care Agency, Kathleen Cecile accepted the donation on behalf of the unit.
Present to witness the handover held under the unit’s verandah at the Seychelles Hospital, were representatives of the oncology unit, representatives of the Lions Club of Seychelles, the Melvin Jones Lions Club of Seychelles, the Rising Lions Club of Seychelles and Seychelles Centennial Women Lions Club who all assisted in sourcing out of the items for the donation.
Dr Mamujee stated that in spite of the difficult and challenging times, he was very happy that the local clubs have thought about the plight of the patients in the cancer ward and came up with the items which he had donated with great pride, honour and privilege.
On behalf of the Health Care Agency, Mrs Cecile thanked Dr Mamujee and the local Lions clubs for their initiative which has been greatly appreciated.
“The items will benefit the dedicated staff in their daily work to deliver effective and safe care to patients who use the unit,” said Ms Cecile.
